Batam Spa Trip 25 & 26 August 2010
Peggy, Polly, Lyn, Betty Kiang, Jimmy & Lionel would like to thank Betty Low for all her effort & time for arranging this short trip. We departed from HarbourFront Ferry Cruise Terminal via the ferry BatamFast 18 at 9.20 am. It was a smooth 45 minutes ride & upon arrival at the Batam Sekupang Ferry Terminal, we boarded the KTM Resort mini bus which ferried us to the Batam KTM Resort.
The 5 ladies occupied the family cottage located on the slope consisting of 2 bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a kitchenette, a living area & a spacious surrounding verandah. On the other hand, the 2 guys got the beach front chalet, though small but commands a good view of the lagoon, the spa & the sea. The cottages & chalets are replicas of typical malay huts or 'pondoks' made up of mainly teak wood, built on stilts looking like tree trunks.
We were rather satisfied with the whole package especially the full body massage & some of us even suggested that we should make it a monthly affair. All of us went for the 1 for 1 promotions like facial massage, body scrub, body mud mask & foot massage. It was indeed a wonderful & an experience for some of us.
On the 2nd day morning after breakfast, some of the ladies even went for the foot massage. We departed from the ferry terminal via the ferry Sea Raider at 2.40 pm for home.
Looking forward to our next experience in Kuching!

Quail's eggs or what?
Aramsa The Garden Spa
The 7 walkers namely Betty, Peggy, Polly , Mok Wah, Edward, Jimmy & Lionel decided after our usual wednesday brisk walk at MacRitchie to have lunch at Shunfu Food Court next to Sin Ming Condominium Thomson Road. We had quite a wide variety of food like char kway teow, soon kueh, abacus, popiah, mee pok, mee kia, ee char kueh, butterflies, pisang goreng, giant fish balls & also our kopi see, kopi kow & teow her.
Betty & Edward left after the lunch as they had to go for another appointment.
Jimmy suggested visiting the Aramsa The Garden Spa at Bishan Park 2 Ang Mo Kio Ave 1. This spa is being operated by Ms Jazreel Low, the 1st runner-up in the 1st Star Search Contest. Zoe Tay was first & Eileen Tan the 2nd runner-up. She still maintains herself very well rather lanky & slim.
The staff gave us a good tour of the spa & its amenities like the rainforest shower room, the one bed, two bed massage rooms with jacuzzi, etc. The spa is very close to nature surrounded by lots of shrubs, creepers & plants. It's a beautiful spa but unfortunately, the prices for the various packages are rather on the high ends.
From the spa, as suggested by Peggy, we then proceeded to a durian stall next to Uncle Leong Seafood Ang Mo Kio somewhere opposite the Kebun Baru Food Centre to buy good & cheap durians selling at a dollar each. These 1 dollar durians are worth buying & the meat is just as good. Some of us also bought the D24 at S$7 per kilo & the Mao Sun at S$12 per kilo.
We indeed had a great day!
