Group of 12 (Lionel, Edward, Betty, Polly, Peggy, Christopher(Lionel's friend), Judy (Lionel's friend) & hubby, Tommy, Francis, Nancy, Karen and Jessie) embarked on the trip to Hanoi from 01-08 March 2012 via Tigerairways.It was a good overnight experience on board the junk in Halong Bay, great trekking in Sapa mountainous region with beautiful landscape of lust terraces of padi cultivation, close encounters with the tribes like the Black H'mong & the Red Dazo(women with shaven eyebrows) and ultimately, a good historic tour of Hanoi city which included places like Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature(Vietnam's first university), etc.
Our ladies went overboard when shopping was concerned. You should see the number of Kipling bags, scarfs, caps, pearl set rings/ear-rings and coffee powder they purchased.
It was fun & great fellowship and look forward to the next trip.
