Marina Bay Sands Visit on 30 June 2010

After accompanying & admitting Linda to Mt Elizabeth Hospital, we (Polly, Betty, Edward & Lionel) visited the 5 Star office Beach Road to change our departure time for our Awana Trip from 8 am to 7 am. We then boarded the circle line train from Nicoll & alighted at Promenade stations to proceed to the Marina Bay Sands.
The Helix bridge is an icon & so is the Sky Park. The city area with the skyscrapers looks fantastic from the bridge. Construction works are still going on beyond this barricade, the reason for the kay-pohs peeping through the openings.
We had a glimpse of the casino, it's very posh compared to Sentosa's & there are many branded shops within this complex too.
The lobby area of the hotel looks very grand & majestic. You can also experience the (mini-version) bum boat cruise operated by a boat man using a long wooden oar along the so-called Singapore River with a number of bridges spanning across it. I presume it's a novelty for the tourists only and not the locals.
We had our dinner at the temporary food court and then headed home around 8 plus.
